We as a PTA Board just wanted to add our condolences to those victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary  shooting. With that we want to let you know what we are doing at Riverview to keep our kids safe and hopefully prevent any tragic event from unfolding here. Today we had a meeting with Mr. Beckstrand to discuss what is being done and what we might be able to do in the near future. Please know that we are exploring options on ways to make our procedures more efficient and looking into a school security buzzing in system. Mr. Beckstrand stated that if we have to knock to get inside each other’s homes, shouldn’t we have to knock to get in where our most precious possessions are?  Teachers have been reminded on procedures and there will be drills in the not too distant future. Our PTA Executive Board is going to put a list together of emergency items that we would like to see in the classrooms, please look for an email later this week and donate what you can. Also Monday October 22nd - Miss Utah Heather Anderson will be here to talk to the 4th, 5th and 6th graders about drug resistance. Should be a TON of fun!!

This week is a reminder to be pedestrian safe. Please take the time to review the pledges that will be sent home the first part of the week with your student. BE SAFE OTTERS!

Thursday - WALK TO SCHOOL! Walk to school and receive a sticker!!
Friday - WEAR GREEN & BE SEEN!! *green counts toward spirit numbers*
