April 5, 2011 PTA Board Meeting Notes

Principal Beckstrand thanked everyone "for getting involved in making things better for our families, school and community."

Riverview PTA was officially organized.

We will be working on a paperless way of communication. Using our blog, facebook and Parent Link phone service.

Our school colors are blue and grey.

We will be posting our PTA budget on the blog at least a month before school starts to encourage parent input.

The May newsletter from Harvest Hills PTA will have information about summer activities we are working on to support Riverview's take home reading library (THRL).

• Having students march in the Saratoga Splash parade wearing Riverview school shirts.
• Community yards sale. All proceeds will go to the Alpine Foundation to help us get a matching grant of $5,000 for the (THRL).
• Chili's night
• Terra Cycle, we will earn extra money by recycling throughout the summer and during the school year.

Details for these activities will be in the May newsletter. We will also be bringing a flyer door to door to welcome all students in our boundaries to the school.
